Today, Qisda Corporation, a leading LCD display manufacturer, held a supplier conference to share insights on economic trends and the ASEAN market, aiming to strengthen partnerships towards achieving a 30% carbon reduction in the supply chain by 2030.
Qisda announced its commitment to leading suppliers in enhancing operational resilience and plans to expand the procurement of recycled plastics, metals, and other circular materials to respond to rapidly changing global trends and the demand for low-carbon products.
Chairman Peter Chen stated that in addition to being a global leader in display and projector manufacturing, Qisda has also made significant strides in medical technology, network communications, and smart solutions in recent years. As the flagship enterprise of a larger fleet, Qisda will continue to assist supply chain partners in enhancing their sustainable competitiveness through greenhouse gas inventories, product carbon footprint training, and ongoing guidance for suppliers to improve operational insurance projects, with over 700 suppliers already participating.
Qisda is actively introducing low-carbon materials, with recycled materials (excluding electronic materials) accounting for approximately 43% of the total procurement by weight last year. Among these, recycled plastics made up 76% of plastic materials, and recycled metals accounted for 10% of metal materials. Some products have even utilized up to 85% recycled plastics and 50% recycled metals.
Furthermore, to help supply chain partners actively respond to carbon reduction trends, Qisda has been offering educational training courses on greenhouse gas inventories and product carbon footprints, empowering suppliers to implement inventories and establish product carbon footprint calculation capabilities.
Qisda explained that it will complete the first phase of greenhouse gas inventories for suppliers this year, gradually increasing the carbon reduction ratio each year, moving towards the sustainable goal of a 30% carbon reduction in the supply chain by 2030. The company has also committed to using 100% renewable energy by 2040 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, continuously launching carbon reduction initiatives to realize its sustainable vision.
Two years ago, Qisda invited suppliers to respond to the Joint Carbon Reduction Conference, advocating for carbon reduction goals. This year, the supplier conference brought together 275 suppliers, with over 500 partners participating both online and offline.
