BenQ Group has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development and has been honored with the National Sustainable Development Award for the first time. This award is organized by the National Sustainable Development Committee of the Executive Yuan and undergoes a rigorous evaluation process consisting of three stages: "written preliminary review," "on-site review," and "final selection." It is the highest honor awarded by the public sector in Taiwan to encourage corporate sustainability.

Chairman Peter Chen stated that corporate sustainability has become a universal value globally. Qisda has published its first "Corporate Social Responsibility Report" in 2007, setting goals, taking action, and continuously disclosing its progress, thus cultivating sustainable development for over 15 years. In recent years, the company has extended its experiences to upstream and downstream partners and fleet members, actively exerting a positive influence on sustainability.

National Level Award Recognizes Remarkable Results in ESG Comprehensive Projects

In terms of ESG comprehensive project outcomes, Qisda achieved recognition as one of the top 5% companies in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the first time in 2024, with only 52 companies in Taiwan receiving this honor. The group has set carbon reduction targets of 3-4-5 for sustainability and has passed the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) science-based carbon reduction targets in 2024. The group is actively committed to reducing carbon emissions in its supply chain, with a clear goal of a 30% reduction by 2030.

During the 2024 COMPUTEX exhibition in Taipei, the group adhered to the international ISO 20121 sustainable event management system, setting 21 ESG sustainability goals, all of which were achieved and verified by a third-party professional after the event. Following its first certification last year, it has become the first and only group in the world to successfully renew certification at COMPUTEX.

To achieve sustainable operations, the group has implemented a Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) for many years, accumulating over 6,300 projects by 2023, with estimated savings of nearly NT$12 billion and a strong promotion of green products. In the human resources area, the group has combined its corporate vision for accelerated transformation with a 3E talent development and 3P leadership model to promote performance growth, earning the "Excellence in Learning Organization Award" from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in the United States.

Participation in Initiatives and Commitment to Natural Ecological Conservation

In terms of natural ecological conservation, from 2008 to 2023, BenQ invested corporate resources to plan employee rice field adoption and agricultural experience activities, partnering with over 110.5 hectares of quality farmland across Taiwan. The company mobilized support for local smallholder products, promoting closer ties to green production areas and local revitalization.

Additionally, in 2023, the company participated in the "Taiwan Nature Positive Initiative" launched by the Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSD-Taiwan) and plans to disclose its impacts related to the natural environment using the TNFD framework.

The National Sustainable Development Award was established to recognize the efforts and achievements of units promoting excellent sustainable development performance, encouraging public participation in sustainable development initiatives, and realizing the localization and integration of sustainable development goals into daily life, thereby achieving the national vision for sustainable development. The awards are divided into four categories: "Education," "Corporate," "Non-Governmental Organizations," and "Government Agencies," evaluated based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
